The ambition to pursue my life and professional goals to work in the development sector started in 2003 when I took the decision to further my education as project manager for humanitarian aid. From a professional background as a production engineer, I found thanks to my graduation from the 3A (Africa, Asia, America) International School of Business and Development, the way to train myself to work in developing countries, to learn other languages and above all, to help solve the world's toughest energy, social and economic challenges. This is indeed since 2007 that I have been fulfilling this dream to work in NGO programs firstly in Latin America, North Africa and then in Cambodia. My commitment to act for education and youth development has been now established during the last eight years since I had the great opportunity to work with 800 students and 50 educators. My main subjects of teaching are STEM, Foreign Languages (French and English), and professional development among high schools, training centers and universities both in non-profit and private sector. That being so, the students I have been teaching are Chinese and Khmer, teenagers and adults and all coming from a very diversified economical background. Concerning the main relevant experience, I have in running events, I can highlight my work experience in the organization the Cambodia Food Festival 2011, 2012 and 2013 for PSE Institute (Pour un Sourire d’Enfant) in which, each time, there were between 5,000 and 7,000 visitors who attended this two-days event. My role on that time was to generate and find the sponsors, public relations and tickets sales. More recently, as STEM program coordinator at Pannassastra University of Cambodia, I was currently in charge of organizing the first edition of the Battambang STEM Festival during which various high schools have displayed science projects and 1,000 visitors were counted in one day. The preparation of this outdoor event required sponsors research, marketing actions among a panel of stakeholders on both a local and national level.
Overall, my primary mission in Cambodia since 2011 is to strengthen relations and networks with institutional and corporate stakeholders as public relations, partnerships and fund raising coordinator. This was the beginning of a period of eight years in which my responsibilities have extended on grants and fundraising coordination for programs related to child protection, education and professional inclusion of underprivileged youth. Meanwhile, in 2017, a friend and I took the challenge to set up our own company under the name Cheap Advisor which is a mobile app for travel and tourism. Self-learning has been then the key for these last two years in order to create and manage digital content and to increase our on online sales and presence through social medias.
To get back to how I project myself at this position, I can highlight the 8 years I have already spent working in the humanitarian action in South East Asia; moreover, the extravagant social and economic indicators of this country will make this experience an unforgettable and challenging opportunity to lead a positive change. By joining this organization, I will also expect to give a major boost to the development of a community networks, not only in locally but also worldwide. Last but not least, in alignment with the programs of the organization, I am certain of pursuing my dream career where bringing efforts and initiatives can enhance the quality of information and increase its impact. As one of the most powerful assets I can bring to this role, I would first mention my experience in partnerships development, fundraising campaign and business in international development.
